WHAT MAKES THIS JOB FANTASTIC?
We have an exciting opportunity for a new graduate or early career Occupational Therapist to join us in private practice, allowing you to learn the ropes so you
love private practice as much as we do. With us you will be cultivated to become your best self and encouraged to live your best life, as you support our clients to become and be the same.

ABOUT US

Little Buds OT is a neurodiversity affirming mobile practice, now in its 13th year. We are highly regarded and have developed strong community networks with many kindergartens, schools, other allied health professionals, and NDIS planners, which has led to a well-established referral base. We are a team of 5 OTs, 2 Therapy Assistants, a Practice Manager and admin support. We have purposely grown at a slow pace, choosing to nurture our therapists and build strong relationships with them. The best thing about being a small team is that we really see you and value the person you are.

A Little Buds OT is HonestCompassionate, and Driven. Believing that helping children is their calling and that their skills, knowledge, compassion, and ability to connect have the potential to change lives. Our vision is to nurture every child to blossom. If you feel the same way, then we encourage you to read on.

OUR LOCATION

We are a prdominantly mobile practice currently servicing the South East suburbs of Melbourne (areas surrounding Berwick, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Narre Warren). Being mobile means you will never feel like you are stuck in a clinic. You get to see the child in their environment, meet the important people in their lives, and truly get to know who they are.

We have a beautifully renovated clinic in gorgeous Beaconsfield Victoria, which offers opportunities for some in-clinic therapy sessions, running of groups, admin days, and team meetings. It is also available any time for therapists to use when they have a late cancellation, are in-between clients, for use of the kitchen and bathroom, etc...

If you are a registered Occupational Therapist wanting to be part of a small but supportive team, we currently have several opportunities for you to join us as a full-time team member. We work in a strength-based developmental nature and use the DIR Floortime model to guide our practice.

THE ROLE

If you are a registered Occupational Therapist wanting to be part of a small but supportive team, we currently have several opportunities for you to join us as a full-time team member. We work in a strength-based developmental nature and use the DIR Floortime model to guide our practice.

In this role you will:

  • Work with a varied paediatric caseload (children from birth to adolescence) in a variety of community-based settings.

  • Conduct assessments and provide therapy to meet the needs of children no matter what difficulties or challenges they present with, whether they have a delay or a diagnosis, all the while supporting their families.

  • We love being creative and finding opportunities to meet the needs and interests of our clients – you will be supported to create and run groups to meet these needs.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER

At Little Buds OT we want you to feel valued and challenged. We offer a structured Career Progression Pathway to ensure you can continue to grow as a practitioner, can have as much role diversity as you desire, and as our team continues to grow you can actively progress your career by stepping into leadership and management roles, if that is your passion.

In addition to the above, we also offer:

  • Mentoring: ongoing structured support from our highly experienced senior OT, tailored to suit your skill level and experience.

  • Supervision: individual clinical and group peer supervision. Doing joint visits with other team members is an integral part of how we learn at our practice. During this time you can observe how others work and offer valuable feedback to each other.

  • Reasonable KPIs - We see clients four days a week and have one day as a non-client day. This allows all of our therapists a balance between clinical work and other duties such as admin, report writing, research, learning, resource development, etc. It also helps us all feel more connected and supported, often going out for a team lunch to celebrate our wins and special days.

  • Our Spectacular 12-Month New Graduate Program: provides new graduates and early career OTs with a smooth transition into our practice in order to give them the best chance of success and enjoyment of their job.

  • Travel: paid travel time and paid milage for the use of your car between client appointments.

  • Professional Development: ongoing support to meet your CPD requirements based around your needs and interests, with a generous PD budget.

  • Resources: 24 hour access to our resources; assessments, sensory tools, craft materials, games, toys, books, stationery… as well as our extensive library of training videos.

  • Family Friendly: we encourage a work-life balance, and we will never ask you to put your job ahead of your health or your family.

  • Social: A fun and flexible working environment, with catch ups and team building days.

  • Salary: generous remuneration based on skills, qualifications and experience, plus superannuation and leave. The details of the complete Remuneration Package will be discussed at interview.
