Experienced PAEDIATRIC OT / Clinical Team Leader

  • Mobile clinic servicing South East suburbs of Melbourne.

  • Full time or Part time with flexible hours and ways of working.

  • Supportive team + generous remuneration + peer support + individual supervision

WHAT MAKES THIS JOB FANTASTIC?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a balance between a clinical case load and leading a small team of OTs through mentoring, supervision, and guidance. Your experience and knowledge will be highly valued with us, and while you still get to make a difference in children’s lives with your own small case load, you will also be able to share your amazing skills and knowledge with the new generation of OTs and make a vast impact by supporting them.

ABOUT US

Little Buds OT is a neurodiversity affirming mobile practice, now in its 13th year. We are highly regarded and have developed strong community networks with many kindergartens, schools, other allied health professionals, and NDIS planners, which has led to a well-established referral base. We work in a strength-based developmental nature and use the DIR Floortime model to guide our practice.

We are currently a small team of 4 OTs (including myself Kat – Director and Senior OT with 16 years’ experience), 4 OTs, 2 Therapy Assistants, and a Practice Manager. We have purposely grown at a slow pace, choosing to nurture our therapists and build strong relationships with them.

A Little Buds OT is Honest, Compassionate, and Driven. Believing that helping children is their calling and that their skills, knowledge, compassion, and ability to connect have the potential to change lives.

Our vision is to nurture every child and every therapist to blossom. If you feel the same way, then please read on.

OUR LOCATION

We are a mobile practice currently servicing the South East suburbs of Melbourne (areas surrounding Berwick, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Narre Warren). Being mobile means you will never feel like you are stuck in a clinic. You get to see the child in their environment, meet the important people in their lives, and truly get to know who they are.

We have an office space in Beaconsfield Victoria, where we meet up one day a week so that we all feel supported and part of a team. On this day, we don't see any clients and instead spend our time catching up with our colleagues, bouncing off ideas, organising our week, creating resources, researching interventions, writing reports, and often going out for a team lunch to celebrate our wins and special days.

THE ROLE

As the Director of the company, I am looking for someone to work along side me and collaborate with me when it comes to guiding our clinicians and developing services for our clients.

My pledge to you is to always listen to your views and ideas; help you grow as a clinical team leader and provide you with opportunities to learn and develop your skills; be considerate of your needs as a clinician and as a person and have an appreciation of the work-life balance – never asking you to put work ahead of your family or your health. In this role you will:

  • Work with a varied paediatric caseload (children from birth to adolescence) in a variety of community-based settings,
    2 – 3 days a week.

  • Support, mentor, and supervise our clinicians and students on the other days (number of days can be negotiated to suit your needs). This may involve: having clinicians observe how you work; doing joint visits to observe how they work and provide feedback; read over clinicians’ reports; organise and facilitate practice PD/Training days; help organise social events, assist with recruitment of new clinicians, etc…

WHAT WE CAN OFFER

At Little Buds OT we want you to feel valued and challenged.

We offer:

  • Mentoring: ongoing structured support from myself (Director/Senior OT), tailored to suit your skill level and experience.

  • Office Day one day a week: allows all of our therapists a balance between clinical work and other duties such as team meetings, admin, report writing, research, learning, resource development, etc. It also helps us all feel more connected and supported.

  • Access to a desk during the week: team members can access our office to use a desk, the lunch room and toilet facilities any time of the week, if they prefer not to work from home, for those times that they are in-between clients or have a cancellation.

  • Travel: paid travel time and paid milage for the use of your car between client appointments.

  • Professional Development: ongoing support to meet your CPD requirements based around your needs and interests, with a generous PD budget.

  • Resources: 24 hour access to our storage area full of assessments, sensory tools, craft materials, games, toys, books, stationery…

  • Family Friendly: we encourage a work-life balance, and we will never ask you to put your job ahead of your health or your family.

  • Social: A fun and flexible working environment, with catch ups and team building days.

  • Salary: generous remuneration based on skills, qualifications and experience, plus superannuation and leave. The details of the complete Remuneration Package will be discussed at interview.
